WHat is IRRITABLE BOWEL SYNDROME(IBS)?

An intestinal disorder causing pain in the belly, gas, diarrhea, and constipation. The cause of irritable bowel syndrome isn’t well understood. A diagnosis is often made based on symptoms. Symptoms include abdominal pain, bloating, diarrhea, and constipation. Some people can control their symptoms by managing diet, lifestyle, and stress. Others will need medication and counseling.

How come i feel sad after i learned about my disorder?

IBS is in everything.

HOW COME I FEEL SAD AFTER I LEARNED ABOUT MY DISORDER?

It takes three to six months to heal your gut after you get diagnosed. It is hard, it sucks, you may gain weight, loose weight have to go the bathroom and then a week later not be able to go to the bathroom at all.  You may feel left out of everything for a while; because it seems embarrassing, but you will overcome all this and so much more. It is ok to take care of you during this time. It is ok to say no to something during this time.  But take care of your needs and let your gut heal.

VEGETABLES, FRUITS, Meat, SEAFOOD, & DAIRY

One of the absolute hardest things is fining places to go out to eat. Questions like Will they take my disease or allergies seriously? Is their kitchen clean enough to not get cross contamination? Not all people will have the same reaction to a restaurant as we have.  We are making a list of places that have worked for us. We are from Houston, TX and we have not found any places that were entirely gluten free. We also really like the Find Me Gluten Free App. It has been a life saver.

Items that I CAN NOT eat:
Vegetables: Onions, Lima Beans, Brussel Sprouts*
Fruit: Palm Fruit, Pears, Bananas*

Dairy: Cashew Milk, Cool Whip, Ice Cream(palm oil).
Meat: It cannot have onion or onion powder in it.
*Denotes that I can only eat small amounts.

Food, Sauce, & Spice recipes

The majority of my issues have resulted from Palm Oil and from Onion / Onion Powder.  Any type of sauces or spices can be ok if they don’t have those two things in them.  I have created some amazing recipes that I believe can be amazingly helpful for people with IBS.  I also believe that a person could take out Garlic in my recipes and that would make them Low-FODMAP friendly.
